Fron Heritage Boards

The Froncysyllte heritage boards trail was a series of temporary interpretation panels installed along key routes through the village and surrounding landscape. Developed with input from local residents and historians, the boards highlighted the area’s industrial heritage, including its connections to quarrying, tramways, the canal and railway. The trail encouraged visitors to move beyond the aqueduct and explore the wider hillside setting, revealing hidden stories and viewpoints that are not immediately visible. By connecting locations through a self-guided route, the trail helped position Froncysyllte as an important part of the wider World Heritage Site story while strengthening local pride and awareness of its unique heritage.
