Make your own World Heritage Site badge with Mostyn Wales in a fun, hands-on activity where children and adults can get creative and design their own badges to take home. 

Louby Lou is a much loved Wales-based storyteller who engages children on expeditions into other worlds through interactive performances and adventures that are bursting with imagination, magic and lots of laughter.

We are delighted that Holly’s Magic Paintbrush will be with us to bring the magic, paint, glitter and smiles to young children (or adults!), facepainting will be free.

Trevor & Fron Floating Market is back! Local canal boat traders have come together to create a floating market as part of this event.

Dr Sara Wheeler is an artist, writer, poet and psychogeographer who has been working with us to engage children from local schools in the exploration of identity through Welsh place names and rural planning. The artist has created a poem through this work inspired by place, memory, and heritage and will recite it for the first time during the event. 

A temporary architectural pavilion designed in 2023 by artist Cathy Wade as part of her work with Raynham Primary School as a space to hold children’s aspirations for their future community, in Upper Edmonton in North London. 

As visitors move from the car park towards the towpath into the basin, Wrexham-based storyteller Jaqui Blore will guide you with tales that will connect you with the landscape and its history. 

In 2024, for The Bridge That Connects, artist Chantelle Purcell created a performance and film - ‘Spiritual Currencies’ which was screened for the first time. 

Fiona Collins a celebrated Llangollen-based storyteller who tells traditional stories in Welsh and English. 

Make sure you pop into the Telford Inn who have a permanent, informal and incredible collection of photography and artwork adorning the walls, including colloquial and playful text in the nooks and crannies of this beautiful pub in the heart of the basin. 

On our heritage trail for the event is The Chapel Tearoom, the former historic Bryn Seion Chapel, now a Grade II listed building that has been sensitively restored and refurbished.

Wales-based storyteller and ethnobotanist Pridie Tiernan will be inviting people, families and children to explore the beautiful Bryn Seion field in the heart of Trevor Basin which sits between the canal, Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and the River Dee.

Continuing her series titled Words on Water, an iterative project that began with voices from canal communities on the value of water. 

The towpath will become a heritage trail through temporary billboards sharing stories, and visually depicting local landmarks of heritage.

In each community over the weekend visitors will be able to pick up a specially designed WHS Passport and original heritage stamp book!

Local walk leader Julie Williams will lead a guided walk exploring the rich lesser-known heritage that visibly envelops Froncysyllte (known as Fron).

The world-renowned Fron Male Voice Choir will perform in the heart of Trevor Basin near to the Pontcysllte Aqueduct, filling the World Heritage Site with their powerful harmonies. Their performance will provide a memorable musical highlight of the festival.
