Developed in 2024 by residency artist Emma-Jayne Holmes and historian Tyger Benbow-Jones to highlight the heritage in the labyrinth of footpaths that run vertically through the village. The signs highlight individual footpaths which have been given informal names by the community over the years, an example being “Aunty Mena’s”, a former shop that gave its name to one footpath representing intertwined social and industrial histories of the village. The signs were designed by Amy Teslin-Davies and produced by ASAP Signs. They have QR codes which link to old photographs and sketches by Emma-Jayne.
